It’s quicker to work out who didn’t score for Ketton on Saturday, so comprehensive was their victory.

The Rutland side thrashed Leverington Sports, the PDFL Premier Division’s second to bottom side, 9-0 at Pitt Lane .

The goals where well shared out with five different goalscorers, four of which: Will Bird, Ashley Clipston, Ian Marsh and Lewis Morley scored a brace and Seb Hood just once.

The result comes just six weeks after Ketton lost by the same score line to Deeping Rangers Reserves.

Since then Cottesmore have won four games, drawn one and lost just once to move up to seventh in the league.

It was the club’s best result for 12 months, with King’s Cliffe the last side to lose 9-0 to Ketton in October last year a league lower.

Ketton caretaker manager Andy Gray said: “We have had a return of confidence and people are just enjoying their football again. We were playing two or three times a week, not training as much as we would like and players were just knackered.”

However now Ketton are unbeaten in October and it took less than a minute for them to open their account on Saturday when Marsh beat the keeper with a free-kick from the right hand side.

Just four minutes later Ketton where 2-0 up then Will Bird made it three from a shot just inside the box.

The impressive Ash Clipston capitalised in a stunning opening 20 minutes to give the hosts a 5-0 lead.

It took Ketton nearly 20 minutes of the second half to find the back of the net again but when they did the goals started to flow,

Substitute Lewis Morley was the first to strike with a close-range header and then Bird struck twice in quick succession before Marsh got his second of the day.

With ten minutes left to play Morley piled on the misery when a cross beat everyone including the Leverington goalkeeper and ended in the back of the net. There was still time for Clipston to add a ninth by way of the post.

Ketton face Crowland away in the PFA Cup on Saturday.
