Nicola said it was the second time the window had been broken at night in the past month and it has cost about £600 to repair.

"The Nook has been in Sheep Market for more than 20 years and we've not had anything like this before, but in the past month the window has been smashed twice.

"When we saw all the bins had been broken in Stamford town centre the night before we decided we should try to get this sort of thing stopped."

A police spokesman said a 17-year-old male had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and has been released while officers continue their inquiries. They are also investigating a complaint that he was assaulted at the same location before the window was smashed.
