A-level results 2021: Bourne Grammar School pupils praised for exceptional results

Pupils at a town school have been praised for 'exceptional results' in what has been a tricky year for them.

Bourne Grammar School's A-level results saw 20 pupils achieve a full set of A* grades, while just over half of their certificates carried an A* or A grade.

Describing the year group as having faced "a unique set of pressures" because of the pandemic's impact on pupils' time spent in South Road school, headteacher Alastair Anderson congratulated pupils on their many achievements.

Some will be going on to university, others into apprenticeships.

"With the breadth of subjects on offer in our sixth form we are able to ensure that those who wish to study in our sixth form will be able to find a combination of A-level subjects to help them pursue a bright future," said Mr Anderson.

He added: "Our pupils leave the school with our very best wishes and we are sure they will carve positive outcomes in their chosen next steps."

Seventy-two Bourne Grammar pupils - nearly one third of the total cohort - achieved A* or A grades in all subjects, and more than 78 per cent of grades were graded A* to B.
